Art & Orchids
Sadly the cold weather had defoliated most of the gardens. The daffodils had begun their flowering season, but that was about all that was colorful outside. The garden did have a green house with the Art & Orchids show inside. The temperature & humidity inside was about the same as back home, but walking in from the North Carolina winter was a shock.
Inside was a couple hundred flowering orchids, including a couple rare ones. The lady slipper’s (Cypripedium reginae) southern native range ends in North Carolina and was used quite a bit in the displays.
